Certificates of Deposit

A Certificate of Deposit (CD) is a very common savings product in which you deposit money into a certificate with a fixed rate of interest for a fixed term. Mid Penn Bank’s rates are based on current market conditions, ensuring you get the most competitive rates for your CD.  Click here current CD rates.

  • Interest rates depend on the market conditions at the time you purchase your CD and the length of time for which you wish to invest.
  • You can receive your interest by check or direct deposit into a Mid Penn Bank checking or savings account.
  • Approximately two weeks before your CD matures you will be notified by mail. If you do not respond within 10 days after the maturity date, your CD will automatically renew at the current rate for the same term in which it was previously invested.
  • FDIC insurance covers deposits up to $250,000.

Irrevocable Burial Reserve

  • An Irrevocable Burial Reserve is an interest bearing account, typically a CD, established for the sole purpose of paying burial expenses upon your death.
  • Irrevocable Burial Reserves require only an easy one-time deposit.
  • The minimum deposit required is $500.
  • You may choose to invest in a CD with a 3-year term to a 10-year term. The interest rate at the time of purchase is a fixed rate and the CD will earn that interest rate until maturity.
